Participant Testimonials
I do stochastic modelling and analysis in several directions including mathematical epidemiology. This workshop was an ideal opportunity for me to update on recent work in epidemiology in Canada. It was a rich, condensed source of information. BIRS workshops have been an important part of my research life for several years.

BIRS gave our group the chance to completely immerse ourselves in research by giving us a beautiful venue to share our work, a place to stay, and wonderful meals. It also gave us an opportunity to finally meet colleagues in person that we worked hard with on the COVID-19 pandemic response. I look forward to seeing the collaborations that come about as a result of our workshop!

The workshop was fantastic. I met a large number of new (to me) researchers with interests that overlap with mine. Over the next few weeks I will be exploring the potential for several new research collaborations, and have already invited several researchers to the BIRS workshop I am organising in Sep 2024. I was particularly excited to meet researchers from public health and other government agencies, as my current contacts are largely in academia. Finally, Banff is such an amazing venue for these workshops, perfectly set up to maximize opportunities for collaboration and fruitful research discussions.
